Formally named ‘Project Genesis', Royal Caribbean have officially announced the name of their new class of cruise ship.

The Oasis Class of ship will launch in late 2009 and will be headlined by Oasis of the Seas swiftly followed in 2010 by the elegantly named Allure of the Seas.

Upon entering service Oasis of the Seas will be the largest and most revolutionary cruise ship in the world.
 
The architectural marvel will span 16 decks, weigh in at 220,000 gross tonnes, carry 5,400 guests and feature a staggering 2,700 staterooms.

Oasis of the Seas will have its homeport in Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale
